1986 Pontiac Fiero Coupe in Regina, SK

Seller note:

Up for your consideration, a 1986 ( supposedly 86.5) Fiero SE.

Thieves tried to steal it, so has a damaged steering column on the signal side. This also compromised the ignition and the ability to take it out of park, as there is a rod that connects from the ignition to the brake which is broken. So, when you put your foot on the brake, it should then allow you to take the vehicle out of park, and you cannot. Photo's show the damage. I removed the trim for the shifter, and removed the transaxle cable from the shifter to get it into neutral to move it about. Has the original radio and aftermarket CD, also shown in pics. For whatever reason, they tried to gain interior access through the quarter glass, which is just a plastic cover. Regardless, they were persistent, and only realized it was plastic after many attempts to break out the side panel with a screw driver ... *rolleyes* This is why they are out stealing cars and not running for Mayor. Damage also indicated in the photos.

It did run fine, prior to the attempted jacking, but has not since this incident, which was more than several years. Did burn some oil. Wasn't a traffic light skeeter killer though. Puff at start up, or under heavy throttle.

My goal was to replace the steering column, and get driving it in the summer's again. Good economy for a V6. Marriage and 2 kids later, I realize this is probably not going to happen, as does the wife who really would like to see this lovely ride out of the garage. I did enquire about a column from a couple wreckers, they seem to be available, from anywhere from 100.[removed phone].00.

I rolled it out onto the driveway this past Friday, 8.12.11 for the first time in 7 years and gave it a wash.

Here is a bunch of photo's and a video:
